The African International Film and Television Market (AIFM)
The strong desire of African filmmakers to have their works circulated and to guarantee their profitability in particular led to the creation in 1983 of the African International Film and Television Market (MICA). For this vintage edition, MICA settles in the heart of Ouagadougou, on the Place de la Nation. A key event for the film industry in Africa, MICA is held in parallel with FESPACO from 23 February to 02 March 2019.
"I have a lot of things here that can go on Télé Burkina Why is the TV of Togo, Cameroon not interested to show us subsequently telenovelas and imported films?"
"It is very important for us to consider that African films or series are not just African, they are presented with the same ambition and demand as French, Belgian, Swiss and Lebanese Canadian films."
"Producers and filmmakers have offered to work with us to produce their films and some have submitted their projects, and MICA has been a way for Orange Studio to have visibility as well."
"We want to have a film industry in Africa that will be more competitive on the market; that's why we need quality and professional training for a good finish of the productions. "
"MICA has given us this opportunity to interact directly with the directors and the bet is won."
